One
day like today, 8th of December, a kid who was so special to their family was
born, but in those days people didn’t know was that kid, over the years, will
be in a special man all over the world. Yes, ladies and gentleman, I’m talking
about the amazing Ian Somerhalder.
He
embarked on a modeling career from age 10 to 13, and by the age of 17 he
decided to go into acting. As a model, he has worked for the modeling agency
DNA Models and he has modeled for brands like Calvin Klein, Versace, Guess,
American Eagle Outfitters, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, etc. In May 2006, DNA
Models named in the list of the ten most successful male models.
He
began his acting career in 2000 participating in the series Young Americans and two years later
played the role of Paul Denton in the film The Rules of Attraction.
In
2004 he achieved fame with his portrayal of Boone Carlyle in the hit series Lost, despite the death of his character
in the twentieth chapter of the first season. Then he landed roles in more
movies as Pulse, Tell Me You Love Me, The Tournament, etc. And shows like Smallville and CSI.
In
2009, he intervened in the cast of TheVampire Diaries series of The CW Network, where he earned the title role of
vampire Damon Salvatore. His performance in the show earned him two awards Teen
Choice Awards in 2012 for Best Actor science fiction and sex symbol.
He’s
a great actor as well as a caring person. Through his Twitter account and in
interviews, he announced the creation of the foundation -established Ian Somerhalder Foundation on December 8, 2010, his birthday nº32- which aims to
raise awareness about the importance of protecting the animals and the
environment. He also collaborates with GoGreen Mobile Power and RYOT,
among others.
Since
June 5, 2014, Ian is "Goodwill Ambassador" of the UNEP, the UN
program on the environment.
After
so many years exciting us, making special every day, today, 8th of December, we
