One day like today, 18th of April, a kid who was so special to their
family was born, but in those days people didn’t know was that kid, over the
years, will be in a special man all over the world. Yes, ladies and gentleman,
I’m talking about the amazing David Tennant.
David John McDonald, better known as David Tennant, has an extensive
career (films, series, theater… And if that were not enough, also the
radio).
Let's start with the films. He has played numerous characters in
different films throughout his career. Among them we can count Jude, Secret Smile, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Fright Night, The Escape Artist, The Spies of Warsaw, Doctor Who: the day of the doctor
(a special chapter that was emitted in theaters in honor of the 50 anniversary
of the series), etc.
Besides working in films, he has also appeared in several television
series. For example: The Bill, Casanova, The Sarah JaneAdventures (a spin-off of Doctor Who series that chronicles the adventures
of Sarah Jane Smith, an investigative journalist who, in his youth, had many
adventures in space and time), Broadchurch…
The most important series (in my opinion) is Doctor Who, a
British science fiction series about an alien traveler who fights against
injustice while he explores time and space shouting 'Allons-y' (in the case of
Tennant) on his ship TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimension in Space). Always he
carries his sonic screwdriver, which serves to open and close doors, scan
systems or appliances, analyze matter, collect data, track life forms, etc.
Apart from the world of television, as I mentioned earlier, he has
contributed in theater such as Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet, among
others.
And if that were not enough, he also makes his contribution to the world
of radio.
He is currently working on the series of Marvel, Jessica Jones,
adopting the role of villain Killgrave.
He’s a great actor as well as a caring person. First, he forms part of the Association for Cancer Research (AICR) as he
was filming the third annual Doctor Who Christmas special.
And in second place, he forms part of the Circle, a Scottish charity
which provides holistic, community based support to marginalised children and
families. David says: "I was blessed with a safe and happy childhood. It
is unacceptable to me that any child in Scotland should grow up in poverty or
neglect. I am delighted and honoured to be supporting Circle in Scotland as
they spread their invaluable work across the country”.
After so many years exciting us, making
special every day, today, 18th of April, we will have to make your day special.
So I want to wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY and you meet many more.
