Happy Birthday Robert Downey Jr (2)

One day like today, 4th of April, a kid who was so special to their family was born, but in those days people didn’t know was that kid, over the years, will be in a special man all over the world. Yes, ladies and gentleman, I’m talking about the amazing Robert Downey Jr.

He has been in the world of acting since age five, when he participated in one of the projects of his father, Pound. In 1983 he received his first opportunity in Hollywood: Baby It's You. Two years later he came to Saturday Night Live, where he participated in 18 episodes with various characters. The director James Toback was interested in Downey thanks to her performance in the show and called him to his first starring role in The Pick-Up Artist.

During the following years he worked in many films as Air America (who starred with Mel Gibson), Chaplin (he was nominated for a Golden Globe, BAFTA and Academy Awards because of his impressive performance and incredible British accent, finally getting BAFTA), Only you, Home for the holidays, US Marshals, Wonder Boys, Gothika, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Tropic Thunder (yes, African american is Robert), among others.

    

 

In addition to films, in 2001 Robert made his debut on primetime television, Ally McBeal, where he played the role of Larry, a lawyer who falls for Ally McBeal. This character won him a Golden Globe for 'Best Supporting Actor Series, Miniseries or TV Movie'.

In late 2006, he assumed the successful role of millionaire inventor of weapons Tony Stark in Iron Man, based on the Marvel comic. Such has been its success that already has two sequels and appears in three Marvel films, joining other heroes: Avengers, Avengers: The Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War (the latter still waiting to be released).

In addition, we can see him with his current cast mate Mark Ruffalo in the 2007 film, Zodiac, which tells the story of the search for the serial murderer known as the Zodiac Killer.

Robert Downey Jr. is a versatile artist. For those who don’t know, besides acting also he sings. Vanity Fair published the list of the Top 40 Hollywood celebrities with more income over 2010 being Downey the number 10 on the list (he earned approximately $ 31.5 million for his films). At the same time, Time magazine named him as one of the most influential people in the world.
